CSP

The CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) behind Lou’s name is an earned designation of the National Speakers Association (NSA) and is held by just over 500 speakers worldwide. Lou received his CSP in 1989.

In order to qualify for this designation, a speaker must submit to NSA documents showing the breadth and depth of their speaking business, and maintain a professional fee level over an extended period of time.

Meeting planners know the CSP designation indicates: these professionals are experienced in many aspects of the speaking business and can be relied upon to carefully research every client’s needs, tailor a message that will motivate and excite meeting participants, and deliver it in a way that will be memorable and repeatable for months to come.

CSPs adhere to a strict set of ethical standards and take pride in assuring meeting planners they will be on time, on target, and on the money…helping to create a speaking experience that will be greatly enjoyed.

CPAE

The CPAE behind Lou’s name stands for Council of Peers Award of Excellence and indicates that he has been inducted into the National Speakers Association’s Speaker Hall of Fame. This great honor was given to Lou in 1992.

Each year at NSA’s national convention in July, five people of the 3500-plus members are selected for this honor. Once nominated, they submit an extensive collection of written and recorded material to a volunteer committee for consideration. The committee may look at 50-75 of these submissions before they select the five they believe best deserve the recognition.

Members of the Speaker Hall of Fame are true professionals in every sense of the word. They have spoken to thousands and thousands of people and have developed skills that elevate them to the very top of the speaking profession.

The CPAE is awarded at a gala formal banquet at the conclusion of NSA’s annual meeting and Lou has had the honor of emceeing or co-emceeing that event a half dozen times.
