NSA

NSA is the National Speakers Association, headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, and Lou has been a member since 1986. He has been asked to speak at nearly every national NSA convention in that period and annually speaks six to eight times at NSA chapters throughout the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Lou has keynoted on the main stage at NSA several times and often is tapped to lead workshops and breakout sessions on the art and craft of professional speaking. He has a way of making the complex process of capturing an audience’s attention seem simple; less-experienced speakers fill his session rooms and take volumes of notes they know will help them advance their skills as a presenter.

NSA provides its members with a monthly audio “magazine” called “Voices of Experience.” In 2004-2005 Lou hosted the magazine, collaborating with producer Bill Beckett to create ten 75-minute programs that touched on all aspects of the speaking business. Using his interview skills gleaned from 14 years on air in public and commercial television, Lou probed many of his professional colleagues to reveal the ideas and techniques that helped them rise to new levels in the speaking business.

“NSA has added immeasurably to my career,” Lou says. “It is an honor and a privilege to give back to the Association in any way I can.”
