Speaker Expense Requests

In addition to Lou’s speaking fee (varies with length of the presentation), he requests round trip full coach airfare, ground transportation, and lodging. He always arrives the day before a presentation and usually needs a second night’s stay if your conference is west of the Mississippi River in the US and his presentation concludes after 12 noon. Lou takes care of his own meals and any miscellaneous expenses.

For presentations in Florida, South Georgia, and South Alabama, Lou often drives to the meeting.

A-V and Room Setup Requests

Lou prefers to use a wireless lavaliere microphone. He uses no slides or PowerPoint. He likes to have a small table to his right on the stage or in the area where he will speak. No glass or bottle of water is necessary.

Because Lou’s face is his best visual aid (you’ll see!), he likes to have as much light in the room and on the staging area as possible.

Sometimes his stories involve his coming down into the audience, so if you are using a stage or set of risers, having a convenient set of steps would be very much appreciated.

Speaking of staging, if it is possible to locate the stage area against the wall, in the center of the long side of the room, your audience members will benefit from being closer to the speaker.

If the speech surrounds a meal, please ask servers to stop completely while he is speaking. We know they love to get the tables cleared, but this really is a serious distraction when Lou is performing.

Media Relations

Because Lou spent nearly 14 years in public and commercial television, he is very much at ease doing radio, TV, or newspaper interviews at your location. Clients have also asked him to do a short interview by phone with media in their area before a convention, and he is delighted to do that as well.

If you are an association executive and would like to publish a short article in your newsletter before or after Lou’s appearance, he will be happy to create that and get it to you quickly.

Today’s technology also allows you to feature audio postcards on your website and Lou can record those by phone in advance. Naturally, any other publicity ideas you have will be welcome. We want you to get the best coverage, the best attendance, and the best reaction to your meeting you've ever had.
